OUR HISTORY

Cornerstone Bible Church was founded July 1st of 1983, by Pastor James S. Bzoskie.

Pastor "Jim" Bzoskie is the current Senior Pastor of Cornerstone.

OUR VISION

Our mission is to present the message of the Gospel to all those who will listen and lead them to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

WHO WE ARE
Cornerstone is a born-again, non-denominational Christian Fellowship of believers. Our main purpose is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone, in a clear and simple way, so that all who hear and understand its message can come to a knowledge of Jesus Christ and accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior. We also promote the study of the God's Word to us - The Holy Bible - so that Christians can mature in their faith and apply what they've learned to their daily Christian Walk.
 
OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
We are a church, which is committed to the preaching and teaching of God's Word. We seek to help and encourage those who live in the Hastings and surrounding area to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ and in their daily Christian walk. We meet in a modern facility situated on a five acre parcel of land on the east side of Hastings. We held our first Sunday Morning Worship in our new building on December 26, 2004. We are located at 735 East Tenth Street, just across the street from Smead Manufacturing Company.
 
OUR PEOPLE
We value all those who have chosen to call Cornerstone their home church. Whether a new visitor or a long time attender - we value the opportunity to serve you. We seek to serve people of all ages and all generations.
 
OUR WORSHIP
Our Sunday Worship Service begins with a time of praise and a singing of both traditional hymns and contemporary Christian songs. A time of sharing and testimonies is next. Those having need of prayer are offered an opportunity to have Pastor Jim and the congregation pray with them for their requests. A short passage of scripture is read from the Holy Bible by a volunteer reader as the congregation stands in honor of God's Word. An offering is then received to help support God's work here at Cornerstone. Just before the sermon begins, the Children, ages 2 through 10 years old, leave the service and assemble in the Gathering Room for our Children's program. The morning sermon now begins. Pastor Jim preaches a sermon from God's Word that will encourage and help you to apply God's principles to your life. Our service starts at 10 am and concludes at approximately 11:15 am. We do have a self service nursery for babies and young children if needed. No nursery attendants are provided by the church. You are responsible for the care of your children while in the nursery.
 
OUR PERSONAL STYLE
We welcome all individuals and families to our services and activities. Our people come from all walks of life. Our congregation arrives at church in a variety of attire. Some prefer suits and dresses, while others dress in a more casual fashion. Everyone is welcome to worship the Lord with us.

OUR PROGRAMS
We seek to provide opportunities for all ages. On Sunday mornings we offer a Praise and Worship Service with a sermon that you can apply to your day to day living. We offer a Sunday Morning Children's Program for children between the ages of 2 through 10 years old. On Sunday and Wednesday evenings at 7 pm, we offer Bible study for all those who are interested in learning more about God's Word.

OUR BELIEFS
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, and we seek to faithfully teach the basic doctrines of the Christian faith as explained in the Bible. We believe that God loves each person and that each of us are unique in His sight. We believe that each person needs to have an individual, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and needs to grow in his or her walk of faith. We also believe that each person has gifts and talents that should be recognized, developed, and used to glorify God. As Christians, we believe that each person needs to make his or her own decision concerning faith in Christ, after that commitment, we encourage each individual to choose to demonstrate that faith through baptism by immersion in water. OUR MISSION OUT-REACH
Through our mission out-reach programs we seek to support ministries that share Christ's love in our immediate community of Hastings, Minnesota, and the surrounding area and throughout the world. We help provide support to many local ministries by taking several special offerings for them throughout the year. Our Pastor, Jim Bzoskie, has provided the chaplain services to the Hastings Fire Department, Hastings Police Department, and the Dakota County Sheriff Department for more than 40 years. Through Cornerstone Ministries, Pastor Jim also coordinates the volunteers to provide the Mid-week Bible Studies and Sunday Services to the Dakota County Correctional Facility and Juvenile Center.  We also support international mission out-reaches in both Mexico and Guatemala.
